"Basement Artists shows combine the sounds of talented local bands with the unique and impressive art of many rising local artists, allowing visitors to access a world of underground art and music without traveling far from the mainstream world. Alternating between venues, the shows occur twice a month, providing a range of artistic vision from photography and paintings, to leather work, jewelry, and sculpture. The music varies as well, depending on the venue, ranging from softer acoustic and electric to harder rock and punk, making the shows inviting to an audience as expansive in age and interests as the artists themselves.

Founder and organizer of the shows, Marcus Lamoureux, has succeeded in creating a type of art show so far from typical that he has been able to draw interest from not only those already heavily interested in the local art scene, but also those who would normally create quietly in their homes. As well as the art and music shows, Marcus Lamoureux curates for a few local restaurants where he changes the art on the walls every month or two depending on the venue. This gives opportunity to local artists and photographers a chance to exhibit." (From the Basement Artists Website)
